Our History
AA Wholesalers was started sometime back in the late 60s by Father and Son.
It started with one 1ton old Nissan Bakkie taking vegetables to Lesotho. We had to travel only at night because in the old days driving through the OFS was very difficult, being Indian and we were only allowed to be in the OFS for six hours. We would pass through Heilbronn on the way from Bethlehem to Fouriesburg then Calendonpoort Lesotho at night.
We were once asked by a friend in Butha Butha Lesotho to please buy him a dining room set in Johannesburg and that was where we learnt to start selling furniture. Then we bought a truck from Imperial motors in Langlagter. (Ginger Abe kop)
The business started growing we started dealing with Beds and all types of furniture. We bought a piece of ground in Nancefield, where we could buy ground because of the group area’s Act. Nancefield was declared a Grey area where all nationalities could purchase the ground.

Our Expansion
Now the business expanded to supply Maputo, Malawi and Angola Zambia. We bought a piece of ground in Anchorville, Lenasia and built 3 more buildings of approximately 4500 square metres each bought more trucks and employed +- 150 people.
We opened a mattress factory here on the premises in Anchorville manufacturing, bases and mattresses. Son Ahmed is in control of the Factory. Now, my grandson also joined the business.
We went through a rough patch, survived the Pandemic and still trading in the same premises in Anchorville. Opened a Showroom in Anchorville and supplied all sorts of commodities to the public.
I thank the almighty now as we are still going strong.
